Two officers walk in mid reception, ask for the couple by name, and want to know who is responsible for the vehicle outside. The room goes very quiet. Somebody’s mother goes very pale.
There is a bit of stern questioning, a few pointed remarks about noise complaints, and just as the groom starts genuinely worrying about the parking, the radio crackles, the music kicks in and the whole thing detonates into a full singing performance.
The relief in the room is half the entertainment. From there they work the crowd properly, and by the end your guests are being handcuffed to the dance floor by people they were terrified of ninety seconds earlier.
